  2. How do we make 4H important to Clemson again?

Basically we were told that the county would have to come up with 50% of the salary for a 4-H agent.

Brian has contact with cattleman, volunteers, advisory committee .He should get them to try to get support for 4H program by approaching  their county council  representative .Try to get support from the 4H alumni  to talk to county administration.

Mr Suddeth said that  Brian should present need for 4H agent to county council and request funding.

This should be included in budget he submits to council  in January 2006.

The question came up about 4H activities on the state level . There are very few competitive events .

It is felt that the key to improving the 4H program is to strengthen it in the county .

Leaders questioned the use of a van with a clover on it by another organization. Mr. Wolak said that was being addressed at the state level.

This county and Laurens have the strongest number of volunteers.

There is a regional approach to safety and environment.

There is some funding for N.R. Storm Water  In 90 counties It is mandated to do some things for education in this area.

It was decided that we did not need to meet in Dec. Deb said she would go by dates from last year and sent reminders to leaders about record books.
